The ritual
Three natural moments in every session where you reach for the bottle.
Heat, cold, sweat, sea salt. Your skin and your head do a lot of work in a session. A hydrolat is the step most people skip, and the one that ties the rest of it together.
The moments in a session
Settle in
Mist face and neck before the first round and breathe it in. Pine or Pine Buds if you want the room to smell of it too.
Between rounds
Cold dip, then mist. Back of the neck, wrists, face. Skin cools and your head clears in about ten seconds.
On the stones
A capful in the ladle bucket, never neat on the stones. Pine, Pine Buds or the Wormwood, Mint & Sage blend for an old bathhouse round.
After
Towel off, mist, then moisturise. Warm skin drinks it in, which is the one moment of the whole session where a toner actually earns its place.
At home
Keep it in the fridge. Morning face mist, pillow spray, after the shower, after the sea.
The mist is the part that makes the cold worth it.
Heat. Cold. Mist. Repeat.

Care and safety
Read this once, then never think about it again.
There is no preservative in the bottle. That is the point of it, and it is also the reason it lives in the fridge.
- External use only. Never for drinking.
- Avoid contact with eyes. If it gets in, rinse with water.
- Patch test on the inner arm before first use, especially on sensitive skin. Stop if irritation occurs.
- Pure plant water with no preservative, so keep it refrigerated once opened and use within six months. Store cool and dark before opening.
- Wormwood and sage waters, including the blend, are not for use during pregnancy or breastfeeding.
- Keep out of reach of children.
- Anyone managing a skin or medical condition should check with a healthcare professional first.
